Dr. Pamela Ortiz

Dr. Pamela Ortiz was born in Puerto Rico. As a child she moved to the United States with her family only to return to her native Puerto Rico at the age of 9. From a young age Dr. Ortiz was involved in serving her local community. Her grandfather would sponsor annual holiday events where she would help, distributing gifts to families in need. She spent most of her free time helping customers at her grandfather’s supermarket or at his farm caring for the animals.

Dr. Ortiz obtained her dental degree from Howard University College of Dentistry where she consistently made the Dean’s List, ranked among the top her of class, and was awarded the Department of Orthodontics Award. During dental school Dr. Ortiz was a member of the National Children’s Oral Health Foundation; an organization dedicated to educating parents and children in underserved communities about oral health and preventive services.

Upon graduation she attended the orthodontic residency program at The State University of New York at Buffalo where she obtained her Masters degree and specialty training. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics and her master thesis was displayed at the 2017 American Association of Orthodontics Annual Session held in San Diego.

As a college student, Dr. Ortiz worked at her father’s orthodontic practice. While there, she witnessed first-hand the positive impact a smile can have on a person and discovered her passion for orthodontics. She believes in a patient-first approach and remains committed to listening to her patients, then helping them achieve solutions that will address their concerns.

Dr. Ortiz met her husband, a general dentist, in dental school and they recently celebrated their first year wedding anniversary. They look forward to starting a family together in the future.

When she is not busy creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Ortiz enjoys salsa dancing, traveling, and a rousing game of paddle ball at the beach. Her favorite singer is Adele and she often plays her music while trying fun, new recipes in the kitchen. Most of all she she enjoys spending time with her family.
